This is very good information for people who do not know about physician extension like physician, assistant and nurse practitioner.
Most of the people assume that pa or no are doctors. unfortunately, while training some of them, the amount of knowledge is so minimal. It is so scary.
None of those Np or PA will go to their collegue. They prefer to see physician and the same with physicians. They do not want to see NP or PA they do understand that they do not have enough knowledge, and on Doximity app this type of conversation has been held. None of the physicians want to go to NP or Pa.
And some of those Np as well as physician assistance are wonderful people and These days they do not like to go to primary care or general practice they would like specialized care where they make little bit more money and do not need to put up with all primary care nonsense Documentation and requirements.
I have to PAs in my office that are smart and highly trained. But i've had 3 NPs at various times that were as you described. Glad they have moved on!!
