In the 80s I worked in insurance at a hospital..there were so many good plans...then there was medicaid...abused indeed..also Medicare used to pay almost in full, hospital bills..I would see the check for cover 750k from Medicare and I wondered how could the government afford this? If this was from the hospital I worked at..what ate the larger hospitals getting? Then bill Clinton came along and so did DRG...HUGE CUTS! ..we need to call every senator and representative in our states and tell them NO to put regular Medicare and HMOs together! I l have regular Medicare and have enjoyed my choice of doctors!!! And yes remove Dr Oz from CMS!!

Soviet Union sounds like more free at this point, none of those restrictions were ever implemented there.
Yes, social care that has been present in Soviet Union for commoners but it was elite communist party who had access to concierge care.
