Monsanto Co.contributed $25,000 to Trump’s inauguration and, along with Bayer (its parent company post-2018), has seen favorable regulatory decisions under Trump’s administration, including the approval of over 100 new pesticide products. Additionally, Syngenta, a pesticide producer owned by a Chinese-government-linked entity, donated $250,000 to Trump’s 2025 inauguration, signaling continued industry alignment with his policies.
The agribusiness sector as a whole has shown strong financial support for Trump in the 2024 and 2025 election cycles. According to OpenSecrets and Investigate Midwest, agribusiness donors have given $41.3 million to Republican candidatescompared to $18.5 million to Democrats. Former President Trump is the top recipient, having received $2.9 millionfrom the sector—more than any other candidate. This support reflects the industry’s confidence in Trump’s deregulatory agenda, which includes rolling back environmental protections, weakening pesticide oversight, and supporting large-scale industrial agriculture.
Trump’s administration has reciprocated this support with significant financial aid to farmers. In late 2025, he announced a $12 billion aid package for American farmers, funded by tariff revenues, to offset losses from trade tensions with China. While framed as support for small and mid-sized farms, critics note that such aid disproportionately benefits large agribusinesses. This cycle of donations and policy favors underscores a close relationship between Trump and the agrichemical industry, raising concerns about regulatory independence and public health protections.

Depriving Americans due process to satisfy transnational corporate profits is an illegitimate and un-American activity. It's not only unconstitutional, but makes a mockery out of justice. If our systems of governance have become enablers to economics based on industries making billions laying waste to life, what's the point of upholding them? They betray everything that is sacred about life itself.

They are dong a disservice to their readers by not pointing out the bad as well as the good going on.

They had a revolving door to the FDA and that is how they finally got Round Up approved. It’s now not just in and on the food, humans are excreting it and umbilical fluids contain it. Let us hope the Supreme Court ruling on Brunson Brothers' lawsuit will be released to automatically declare that such Congressional rules will be declared null and void. Immunity cannot be allowed for crimes against humanity, in any case
Love it that congress and Trump continue to work for the citizen...in a very negative way. While it may be extremely difficult to prove you have been harmed by chemicals, the fact remains that they are everywhere. How can we not be harmed by them?
Now on the flip side, Rep Gosar from Arizona has filed a bill to dismantle the 1986 vaccine laws. I have no doubt congress will be paid off extremely handsomely by big pharma to look the other way on this one, HR-4668...End the Vaccine Carveout Act.
If you read Peter Schweitzer’s book Extortion, he says that corporations don’t bribe our politicians. The politicians use bills or the threat of passing a bill to extort money from corporations. He points out that very few bills actually get passed.
